This tutorial explains how to join a group in Second Life.

You'll need the following software - Second Life

You'll need the following hardware - See the Second Life website for minimum requirements.

Second Life groups are a good way of meeting people with similar interests as you in-world. You can have discussions with other group members and can sometime access land that non-group members cannot enter.

Some groups are open for anyone to join whereas others are by invitation only. Follow these steps to join an open group:

  1. Open the Search window by clicking Edit > Search and select the Groups tab
  2. Enter your search criteria and click Search to receive the search results
  3. Click on the name of a group to see its profile on the right
  4. Click the Join button above the list of current members

Note that some groups have a charge for joining and this will be shown on the Join button.

The group is closed to new members if there is no Join button on the group profile.
