The video.nottingham service allows you to create your own podcasts. This tutorial talks you through how to do that

The video.nottingham service allows you to create your own podcasts. Students can subscribe to your podcast via RSS feeds and be notified when you produce new media items. If you simply wish to use the service to host video for students to watch (e.g. in webct), the procedure is still the same.

Possible benefits - Podcasts can be distributed over the web and allow your students to access them at any time.
