Use this guidance to find out about free items and how to get hold of them.

For newcomers to Second Life, there are plenty of freebies available on the welcome islands, as well as elsewhere, to collect. These include everything from free skins, clothes, vehicles, furniture and textures. A variety of freebies are even available on the university's Web Campus in the sandbox area.

Stores often offer free items for promotional purposes, in order to raise their profile and to get you to come and visit more often. Open the Search window (Edit > Search) and search for 'freebies' in the Places tab to find loads of locations where you can get free items.
