Chairman

Eminate Chairman Neil Davidson is also a non-executive Director at Persimmon plc, Chairman of Wisden Cricketer Publishing Ltd and a Director at Emerging Media Ltd and Competition Law Process Management.

He was previously Chief Executive of Arla Foods UK plc, until he retired in 2005, and the former Chair of Leicestershire County Cricket Club Ltd.

Neil was awarded a CBE in the 2006 New Year Honours List for services to the dairy industry.

Managing Director

David is passionate about innovation, and enjoys the challenge of leading a diverse team, successfully turning applied research into commercially viable products and services. 

He has previously been employed by The University of Nottingham, originally as a Senior Research Fellow but also in a range of business engagement capacities. 

In between spells working in academia, David was Operations Manager of a small, engineering consulting firm in the UK and was also the founding CEO of a high-tech start up in New Zealand.  He holds degrees in engineering and science from The University of Nottingham and is married with four children.

Research and Commercialisation Director

Sarah holds a PhD in polymer technology and materials engineering. Sarah has worked in R&D in the pharmaceutical and food industry particularly on product development.

Since joining Eminate in 2007, Sarah and her team have delivered products such as Soda-Lo, a sodium reduction product recently licensed to Tate and  Lyle.

Her team's current focus is developing and providing evidence based claims for novel functional food ingredients for human and animal consumption.

Research and Commercialisation Manager – Energy and Engineering

Nick holds a PhD in advanced materials and has worked in engineering and biomaterials coatings development and commercialisation for the past 14 years.

Since joining Eminate in 2007, Nick and his team have developed and delivered the Endurocut product to market, in addition to medical device coatings to in vivo trials.

His team’s current focus is energy, a key strategic area in which Eminate’s specific skill base and toolset is enabling the company to develop innovative solutions for hydrogen storage applications.
