PhD student attends SET for Britain event at the House of Commons

Miss Hoy Yen Chan, a PhD student from the Department of Built Environment attended the SET for Britain event at the House of Commons in March 2010 . The poster by Miss Hoy Yen Chan was one of sixty posters displayed during the Engineering poster session and was shortlisted for the SET for Britain Award from hundreds of entries which represent the best engineering research from UK Universities. The title of the project for the poster was: Solar Façade for Low Energy Buildings (Innovative Heating and Cooling Technologies)

SET for Britain’ is a series of poster competitions and exhibitions, to provide a forum aimed at encouraging and promoting Britain's early-career researchers and to foster engagement between them and members of both Houses of Parliament at Westminster. The event is organised by the Parliamentary and Scientific Committee, the Royal Academy of Engineering, the Royal Society of Chemistry, the Institute of Physics, and the Institute of Biology.
