Exchange Courses

The Department places considerable value on the student experience gained from spending a study period abroad and has therefore built an extensive exchange portfolio with architecture and building science-related schools across the globe.  As a result, there are exciting opportunities to spend a single semester studying abroad during the 2nd semester of Year 2 and 1st semester of Year 5 for Architecture students, or the 2nd semester of Years 2 or 3 for MEng Architecture and Environmental Design students.  Essentially, these exchanges fall under 3 broad categories:  Universitas 21/University-Wide Exchanges, Erasmus and International Exchanges.

In November each year, the University of Nottingham's International Office hosts a Study Abroad Fair to advertise the numerous exchange opportunities available to Nottingham students.  Students from partner universities and those who have studied abroad in the past are present to answer questions.  Further information about the Study Abroad Fair is available on the International Office website.

Universitas 21/University-Wide Exchanges

The U21/university-wide exchange  scheme is a competitive programme open to students from all schools/departments across the University.  The programme offers full-time students the opportunity to study at a partner university abroad for an agreed period as an integral part of their Nottingham degree programme.

Students from the Department of Architecture and Built Environment can choose from a range of partner universities across Australasia, Asia, USA, Canada and Europe.

U21/University-wide exchange is co-ordinated by the International Office
