B.Chitti Babu earned his Ph.D degree in Electrical Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, India in the year 2012. He had been with National Institute of Technology Rourkela, India as an Assistant Professor in Electrical engineering department from 2007 to 2013. Subsequently He had two post-doc research appointments with Wroclaw University of Science & Technology, Poland from Dec 2013- June 2014 and Technical University of Ostrava, Czech Republic from Sep 2014 to Sep 2015 and both the appointments have been sponsored by European Commission, U.K. He was a visiting researcher with the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering, Politecnico di Milano (POLIMI), Italy from Dec 2014 to Feb 2015. In Sep 2016, he was appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Engineering, University of Nottingham Malaysia campus. His research interests include power electronics applications in smart distribution grid containing renewable energy sources and low-power electronics design, including photovoltaic power systems. He is a senior member of IEEE, IEEE Power & Energy Society, and IEEE Smart Grid Community.He is an Associate Editor of IET Renewable Power Generation (ISI) and IEEE Access Journal (ISI).

He is actively involving in teaching and research in the area of Electrical Power & Energy Systems, includes Power Networks, High Voltage Engineering, Electrical Machines, Renewable Energy Systems, and Modelling and Simulation of Photovoltaic (PV) Power System.
