Professor of Manufacturing, Faculty of Engineering
Phill Dickens is Professor of Manufacturing Technology. He was previously Professor of Manufacturing Technology at Loughborough University where he was Director of the Innovative Manufacturing and Construction Research Centre and Pro Vice Chancellor (Enterprise).
Prof. Dickens started work in the area of Rapid Prototyping in 1990 .He founded the Rapid Manufacturing Research Group in the early 1990's, leading various research projects, and securing one international patent which is still being used. He was the first recipient of the International Freeform and Additive Manufacturing Excellence (FAME) Award in 2009. Prof. Dickens has led international government missions, and given a number of international keynote speeches and acts as a consultant to this industry.
Prof. Dickens is part of the Additive Manufacturing and 3D Printing Research Group.
