Green light for new Technology Entrepreneurship Centre

Airspeed – would be timber designers taking flight

Description
Two students from the Department of Architecture and Built Environment shared the winning prize in this year's TRADA National Student Design Competition. Their task was to develop a wide span structure to display aircraft at the Yorkshire Air Museum based just outside Elvington.

UNMC undergraduate wins Best Poster Presentation Award in an international conference

Description
Derick Liew, a recent MEng graduate from the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering from The University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus, won the First Prize Poster Presentation Award at the Second Asia-Oceania Sonochemical Society Conference (AOSS-2) held at Westin Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

EPSRC launches Fellowships for the Future of Manufacturing

Description
The University of Nottingham has been awarded two out of the four Fellowships available. Professor Phill Dickens has been awarded the Future of Additive Manufacturing Fellowship and Jonathan Aylott the Analytical technologies in continuous and Additive Manufacturing Fellowship.

The Great African Bake-Off

Description
Researchers from the Barriers project hosted The Great African Bake Off to demonstrate Improved Cookstoves in action. Volunteers from the Women's Cultural Exchange cooked a range of food from Sub-Saharan African countries on the cookstoves.
