Chemical and Environmental Engineering annual dinner 2015

Chemical and environmental engineering annual dinner.

The fifth annual dinner for the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering was held on Thursday 15 October at the East Midlands Conference Centre.

This is a great opportunity for current students, staff members, alumni and industrial contacts to get together over drinks, dinner and entertainment. This year we had over 220 guests and we had the pleasure of Trevor Baylis as our guest speaker. Trevor is best known as the inventor of the wind-up radio but we also discovered he swam for Great Britain in his youth (narrowly missing qualification for the 1956 summer Olympics) and later became a stunt performer. He also had the pleasure of meeting Princess Diana and counted Nelson Mandela as a friend.
