Two lead organisations
NERC funds the Earth Observation Technology Cluster.
Three leading umbrella bodies
The Remote Sensing and Photogrammetric Society (RSPSoc), the National Centre for Earth Observation (NCEO), and British Association of Remote Sensing Companies (BARSC) represent the wider Earth Observation community and support the Cluster in its activities.
Dr. Samantha Lavender of Argans Ltd represents RSPSoc.
Andrew Shaw of University of Reading represents NCEO.
David Hodgson of DMCii represents BARSC.
Five Earth Observation themes
The following six pre-eminent scientists lead the Cluster's five key Earth Observation themes.
Dr. Nicholas Tate of the University of Leicester leads the Light Detection and ranging (LiDAR) theme
Dr. Graham Ferrier of the University of Hull leads the Field-Based Fourier Transform Infra-Red (FTIR) theme.
Dr. Doreen Boyd of the University of Nottingham joint leads the Hyper-Temporal theme.
Prof. Mark Danson, of the University of Salford, also leads the Hyper-Temporal theme.
Allen Pope of the Scott Polar Research Institute, University of Cambridge and the UK Polar Network, leads the Circumpolar and Cryospheric Earth Observation theme.
