All ePortfolio and eSystems reports
The CIePD have delivered the ePortfolio and technical strand for Leap Ahead, the Lifelong Learning Network for Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire (LLN), the overarching aim of which is to increase participation into vocational higher education through work with colleges, universities, employers and other partner, providing access to new opportunities and routes to information advice and guidance for learners and employers.
Participants in the pilots included HEIs, FECs, careers organisations and IAG services, training networks, local authorities and sector skills councils. There was a great range both of types of student cohort and levels of study involved in the pilots. Five pilots were chosen as examples for review.
Over all, the LLN’s funded and supported activities within this strand offered teachers and practitioners a unique opportunity to innovate within their institutions and organisations and to move practice forward. The work gave rise to many positive perceptions of benefits to learners and teachers and enhanced institutions’ e-readiness, promoting greater awareness of learner and practitioner requirements and increased understanding of the potential and usability of a range of ePortfolio tools.

The Closer Than you Think tool, developed with SummitSkills Sector Skills Council, is hosted by SummitSkills and is available for anyone to use.
Final report on the CIePD-led XCRI strand for the Leap Ahead Lifelong Learning Network (PDF)
The team initiated and orchestrated XCRI pilots with some LLN partners and Aimhigher East Midlands whereby institutions involved developed exports of their course advertising data using the XCRI-CAP standard, to be imported dynamically into the Your Future East Midlands website. This project sits alongside the CIePD JISC 14-19 Area Prospectus XCRI Aggregation Pilot, both initiatives enhancing the interoperabiltiy of data within the region.
