Implementation Plans
CIePD is actively involved in the development of middleware services to support this vision. CIePD is creating application services for the middleware by converting its existing tools and interfaces to link to and manage services and service data. Middleware support services are also being developed in CIePD as part of the TAS3 project which will produce a secure mechanism for learning service providers to collaborate.
The initial middleware prototype will be being rolled out for initial trials within the University and local business by the summer of 2009. It is envisaged that future development of the middleware and application services will continue following specific use cases. This will allow the framework to evolve and support a learning ecosystem which will give access to a wide range of flexible learning processes.
