Environment Committee


The University has for a number of years had an Environment Committee who direct policy on all environmental issues. This committee, chaired by the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Environment and Infrastructure meets at least three times a year. The terms of reference for the Committee are:

  • To advise Management Board and the Finance Committee on environmental related matters affecting the University
  • To monitor, review and make recommendations to minimise / reduce where practicable the environmental impact of the University's operations, policies and procedures
  • To develop, implement and monitor the University's Environment Strategy

To aid the work of the Committee there are a number of working groups who meet more frequently on specific topics:

  • Transport
  • Recycling and waste
  • Energy and water
  • Landscape and buildings
