Plastic bottles can be recycled at the Bring sites and can be placed into internal Mixed Recycling bins and On Street Recycling bins that are dotted around campus.
Recycling Process
After collection plastic must be sorted before it can be mechanically recycled
The recycling of plastics refers to processes which involve the melting, shredding or granulation of waste plastics
Following sorting, the plastic is either melted down directly and moulded into a new shape, or melted down after being shredded into flakes and than processed into granules called regranulate.
