University Park: David Ross Sports Village

Work has completed on the David Ross Sports Village. The £40million development includes a 20 court sports hall, squash courts, fitness suite, dance studios, climbing wall and the cafe 'The Clubhouse'.

University Park: Sir Peter Mansfield Magnetic Resonance Centre extension

The Sir Peter Mansfield MRC houses the University’s Magnetic Resonance Centre - part of the School of Physics and Astronomy.

The works completed in early 2016 and included four single storey extensions and provided additional floor space for the School. This is part of the wider funding by the Medical Research Institute, investing into facilities and equipment towards improved MRI research for the University.

Jubilee Campus: Ingenuity Centre

The Ingenuity Centre is the latest addition to the University Innovation Park at Jubilee Campus and forms the basis of the University's successful application to be one of the first University Enterprise Zones in the country.

The building comprises a range of different office spaces for start-up businesses and other uses, as well as communal catering facilities, seminar rooms and meeting rooms.

Works were undertaken by Robery Woodhead and completed in autumn 2016. Architects for the scheme are Bond Bryan, with Arup acting as services and structural engineer. Thornton Firkin are the project managers and Turner & Townsend are the cost managers.

University Park: George Green Library

Work has completed on the extension and refurbishment of the existing George Green Library.

The building includes various different areas for study including silent study areas, group study rooms, individual study rooms and a variety of other spaces. There is a new cafe and new language labs within the buiolding also.

Galliford Try were the main contractors and Hopkins Architect as lead designers with Arup as structural and services engineers. Faithful & Gould are acting as project manager and Turner & Townsend are cost managers.

Jubilee Campus: The GlaxoSmithKline Carbon Neutral Laboratory of Sustainable Chemistry

Construction has now completed and the building is fully occupied.

The building is the first carbon neutral laboratory to be built in the UK. The building has achieved BREEAM ‘Outstanding’, scoring 94.1% and LEED ‘Platinum’ as well as carbon neutral status after 25 years.

The project has won several awards already including Educational Estates 2016 (Project of the Year), Structural Timber Awards (Client of the Year).

Morgan Sindall are the main contracator, Fairhursts are acting as architect, with AECOM as structural and services engineers. Gleeds are acting as project manager and Northcroft as cost manager.

University Park: Portland Building Remodelling

Phases one and two of the Portland Remodelling Redevelopment have been completed. CPMG Architects have been working closely with the Student Union to facilitate the masterplan.

Phase one provded 'The Studio', this is a refurbsihed student activity space including bookable spaces and a new performance space with retractable seating and stage.
