HERMES Fellowships

Sir Colin Campbell Building and Aspire

Internal Fellowship programme supporting Outreach, Innovation and Business Engagement

Context

The University has invested over £2m over the past five years in a new internal fellowship programme to support outreach, innovation and business engagement. Funded by the Higher Education Innovation Fund (HEIF), the activities
supported by these awards must be geared towards HEIF goals of achieving economic and/or social benefit
to the UK.

Applications are particularly encouraged from projects that can demonstrate a tangible return on investment.

Eligibility

Fellowships are aimed at PDRAs, researchers and academic members of staff from all campuses and fund a
range of activities, including buying out time to focus on achieving specific goals in these areas.

Further information about eligibility, UoN/HEIF targets and available funding can be found in the
Hermes Fellowships Guidelines.

Timetable

The programme started in September 2011, and following confirmation of the University's HEIF allocation is now scheduled to run until July 2020 with Calls in May and October each year. However, applications with exceptional potential will be considered out of these call dates. For further information email David Southall or T: 0115 84 67246.
