Call 18
The 14 successful projects in the 18th Call for Innovation Fellowships have just completed their Innovation Training.
Over 20 representatives from those projects attended the training during March 2011 with the imminent start of their projects looming. Delivered with a view to raising the right questions as much as providing the right answers, the attendees are now more aware of some of the commercial issues they will face in the coming months.
Awardee scoops International Business Award
A previous Innovation Fellowship has won a prestigious award for international trade. Monica Healthcare Ltd, a University of Nottingham spin-out company formed after the successful fellowship, won the 'New Exporter Award' at the East Midlands International Business Awards 2009, after success with their miniature wireless technology which can monitor the well being of amother and her unborn baby.
ERDF agree to increase funding to Innovation Fellowships
An additional £500k has been made available to the Innovation Fellowships to forward the regions efforts in commercialising new technologies from the higher education establishments.
16th Call scheduled for November/December 2009
The sixteenth call for Innovation Fellowships will open in mid-November and close December 18th for Projects starting in February 2010.
Fifteen successful Fellowship awarded in 15th Call
The 15th call for Innovation Fellowships saw the award of 15 fellowships, giving funding in excess of £220,000 for the successful projects.
...A most exciting group of projects...
Set against a backdrop of a group of consistently high quality and exciting projects, in the end 13 awards were approved at the recent Appraisal Group meeting. These fellowships will commence almost immediately, and for the first time will also include access to both business training and mentoring resources to assist in developing those projects.
