International students

We are very happy to welcome overseas students onto our courses. We understand that you may not be able to visit The University prior to the start of your course, so an offer will be made conditional of obtaining certain grades in technical exams, and also obtaining a suitable English qualification. More information on the English qualifications required can be found on the Centre for English Language Education website.

To find out more, including information on scholarships, see the University’s International Office web page.

Enquiries regarding qualifications can be emailed to Helen Tanner.

The Foundation Year brochure is available in the following languages:

How to Apply

To apply for the Foundation Year, international applicants can either apply via the Universities Clearing and Admissions Service (UCAS) or via a direct application.

UCAS APPLICATIONS

To apply via UCAS, you will need to register at www.ucas.ac.uk.

For those wishing to apply for the September start, the course codes you will need to enter are H100 for the Engineering Pathway or CFG0 for the Science Pathway.

For applicants wishing to apply for the January start on the Engineering Pathway, the course code you will need to enter is H102. Our institution code is N84.

Please note that for the Science route and the Chemical Engineering route there is just one entry point, in September.

DIRECT APPLICATIONS

To apply via the Direct application route, complete a direct Application Form available via the following link:
International applications
or by contacting the course team via the following email address:
foundation.year@nottingham.ac.uk

International applicants should be aware that it can take a considerable amount of time to obtain a visa, we therefore advise early application.

Our International Office

Members of our International Office or academics also often travel to other countries.

If you would like to meet one of them to talk about your application, courses or studying in the UK, the International Office website has details of events across the world.

There is also more detailed country specific information, such as the University contact in your country and entry requirements.
