thinkerstatue

Postgraduate students play an important part in the life of the Department of French and Francophone Studies at the University of Nottingham. As well as including a number of students who took their first degree in Nottingham, the postgraduate community in the Department has included students from Australia, Mauritius, Algeria, France, Belgium, Eire and from a number of universities in the UK. In any one year we expect to have up to 20 postgraduates following taught and research postgraduate degree programmes in the Department.

As one of the largest Departments of French in the UK, we can offer PhD/MPhil supervision across an exceptionally wide range of fields, including: literature from the medieval period to the present, contemporary French culture, society and politics, French thought and critical theory, feminist and gender studies, francophone and postcolonial studies, cinema and the visual arts, linguistics and translation studies.

If you are interested in joining us, these web pages can give you a brief overview of our postgraduate culture and of the opportunities available.
