The School of Graduate Entry Medicine and Health is a School within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.
Based in a new building on the site of the Royal Derby Hospital, the School accommodates more than 120 University staff. The School enjoys excellent links with the Derby Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Medicine is an exciting, challenging and demanding career. The University of Nottingham prides itself on being at the forefront of innovation in medical education, health science research and working with NHS organisations to promote excellence in all aspects of patient care. Our teaching program in Graduate Entry Medicine produces the finest doctors from the most diverse backgrounds. I am also delighted that the School offers two degrees in Healthcare Science; a four–year BSc with a Foundation Year as part of our commitment to widening access into health care education and a three-year BSc.
The following has been announced (28 June 2011) regarding the tuition fees for Graduate Entry Medicine students commencing the course in September 2012. As at present, in year one, you will have to self-fund the first £3,375 towards your tuition costs. In later years (2-4) the NHS Bursary will continue to pay £3,375 towards your tuition. In ALL years of the graduate programme, a loan from the Student Loans Company will be available to cover the difference between £3,375 and the tuition charge of your university, to a maximum charge of £9,000. The funding for living costs has not yet been announced. For information about fees and finance for other programmes within the School and across the University please visit the Student Fees and Finance website.
