The Partnership

The GEM course is delivered by the University of Nottingham in partnership with Derby Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and is based in a purpose built medical school on the Royal Derby Hospital’s site.

The Derby Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust comprises the Derbyshire Royal Infirmary, the Royal Derby Hospital, Derbyshire Children’s Hospital and the Nightingale Macmillan Continuing Care Unit. In the Healthcare Commission ratings 2006, the Trust was rated ‘Excellent’ for use of resources and ‘Good’ for quality of services which puts them amongst the best Trusts in the country.
