The School of Geography at the University of Nottingham is one of the strongest both nationally and internationally. The School is a stimulating place in which to learn and research and has a friendly atmosphere. It is based in the centre of the attractive University Park campus close to the libraries, student union facilities and halls of residence. It has a strong commitment to active learning with participation by students in tutorials, class discussions, group activities, interactive e-learning and field courses. Geography has been taught at Nottingham since the late nineteenth century and Nottingham’s honours programme in Geography was established over seventy years ago.
The School has an innovative, research-led approach to teaching. Members of academic staff are leading international researchers in their specialist fields that cover the breadth of human and physical geography.
