Societies

The Geography Society (GeogSoc)

GeogSoc is a student run body that organises different events providing opportunities for students and staff of the School of Geography to get together outside lectures. Different events are organised that range from staff vs student sports, speeches by visiting speakers about geography and careers, and much more.

The highlight of the year is the Globall, but there are other smaller events giving everyone the chance to bond further such as a Cocktail night and visits to Alton Towers. The society is not totally about social events, as it is responsible for showing the prospective students around the School of Geography and organising useful events such as book sales.

The Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry Society (RSPSoc)

RSPSoc is based in the School of Geography and organises activities such as conferences and workshops, and the production of publications including CD-ROMs.
