Exciting new project in conjunction with Royal Geographical Society, the Institute of British Geographers and the Royal Meteorological Society

Georgina Endfield will be leading a project entitled ‘Weather walks, weather talks: exploring popular climate histories and futures’ starting in March. Gary Priestnall, Simon Naylor (Exeter) will also be involved.

This project engages with and draws on public understanding and appreciation of climate and weather through two distinctive weather-related initiatives: a) the production of a ‘Weather Talks Memory Bank’ with a follow up publication and on line presence, based on recordings of personalised experiences of weather events and climate changes and; b) by researching, producing and trialling an audio “Weather Walk” using a prototype GPS-enabled mobile phone application, to both deliver authored audio content and capture user reflections.
