Research Fellow, Faculty of Social Sciences
I am a Research Fellow in the School of Geography and my broad research interests are focused around how the challenge of urban sustainability can be addressed. In my current role I am employed on a large interdisciplinary project entitled 'Sustaining Urban Habitats : An Interdisciplinary Approach', funded by a Leverhulme Trust Programme Grant.
Prior to joining the University of Nottingham, I completed my PhD (January, 2015) at the Institute for Transport Studies, University of Leeds. This work focused on the travel behaviour impacts of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Namely, what could be learnt about the behavioural response to a large-scale disruption to travel; and the longevity of the changes made.
I have also conducted research on bike sharing schemes in Europe. This study led to a collaborative paper comparing the European and North American policy settings published in the Journal of Transport Geography. I have also written for The Conversation about the London bike sharing scheme.
I am a member of the management board of the University's 'Sustainable & Resilient Cities Research Priority Area'. You can find out more about the Sustainable & Resilient Cities group here.
