Animations

This page gives some example results produced using the numerical models developed by the GGIEMR. The calculations were carried out using a transmission line modelling (TLM) code.

The first animation shows a dipole antenna radiating at 1800MHz beside a human head. The head model uses the electromagnetic properties on 22 types of human tissue to give an accurate representation of the fields in a head. 1800MHz was chosen as it is one of the frequencies used by mobile phones.

The next animation shows a via as it passes through two ground planes.

Through hole via

The following two animations show the fields generated by antennas. The two examples show a folded antenna and a Yagi antenna. In both cases the input signal is a 454MHz sinusoid.

The next two examples are animations created for a course we recently ran on Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC).

The following two examples were created for the research project, Multi-scale modelling and simulation in electromagnetics.

Scattering from a thin strip

More examples will be added to this page as they become available
