Metal Box

The animation below shows the results of a TLM simulation of a Gaussian signal incident on a metal box with a slot cut in the front. The simulation was carried out in 3D with the results given below show the z component of the electric field in a plane through the centre of the box. You can observe that part of the field gets trapped inside the box and different resonant modes of the box can be seen as the field evolves with time. This animation is also available as an avi file here. The animation was created using Matlab.
