Greener ways to throw it away

Go Greener Week, March 21st – 25th

As part of the University wide Go Greener campaign the Environment Team have organised a series of events
that we would encourage you to attend. Please see below for further details on daily events:

Monday 21 March – Sustainable Transport Day

Second Hand Bike Sale, Bike Doctor, Lunch-time Bike Ride and Bike 2 Campus Days 

U Cycle have organised a second hand bike sale and Bike Doctor especially for Go Greener Week. There is no need to book, just drop in and have your bike fine tuned. Also pick up your Bike 2 Campus food voucher for cycling to campus ( please note there are limited numbers and these are on a first come first served basis).

There is also a led bike ride of approximately 4 miles starting at 12 noon from the Marquee. Not got a bike? Not to worry - email sarah.fraser@sustrans.org.uk and you can borrow one!

Eco-Driver Simulator

The eco-driving simulator is a racing game with a difference. In a fun and realistic way the simulator shows people how to drive in an environmentally-friendly way while competing against one another. Come along and test your driving skills.

Come along and find out all you need to about recyling and waste management, including information on turning rubbish into art and home composting.

Creative Energy Dwellings Tour

Find out what the homes for the future may look like. Take a guided tour of the homes that have been built at the Department of Architecture and Built Environment by different companies and see what technologies are being used to reduce the carbon footprint of homes in the future. To book your place please email sustainability@nottingham.ac.uk (please note spaces are limited).

Come and find out how you can live a more ethical and sustainalbe life, get involved with volunteer opportunities at the University and in the wider community.

Competition

‘Me Going Greener’ photo competition – we are asking you to send in your photos that you feel are a visual representation of one or more of the following words: green and waste. Entries must be emailed to sustainability@nottingham.ac.uk by Thursday 24 March. The winning photograph will win an environmental prize.
