All postgraduate students are automatically members of the Graduate School. We also support research staff at the University.
The Graduate School student area is located in A floor, Highfield House and provides a dedicated postgraduate social and study space open 24/7.
We offer networked PCs, refreshments, daily newspapers and access to Graduate School expertise, including advice about sources of funding.
There are five Graduate Centres across the UK campuses.
Our Researcher Development Programme offers a broad and comprehensive range of free research training courses which help our research students develop vital transferable skills. To find and register for Graduate School training courses, and courses from other providers, including CELE, Information Services and Professional Development, visit the Central Short Courses website.
The Careers and Employability Service work closely with the Graduate school to provide support and guidance to our students. Clare Jones is the Careers Adviser for research staff and postgraduate research students. She is based at the Careers and Employability Service but also works with the Graduate School and Graduate Centres.
We provide a year round programme of social and academic events ranging from information about funding bids to coffee and cake social networking events. To learn more about the events planned for this year or to suggest an idea for a future event, please visit the Graduate School's event page.
We encourage networking between researchers across the wide range of different disciplines represented both academically and socially.
Researchers are invited to join in activities and become an active part of the user community.
