Career development Services

If you are a postgraduate research student or early career researcher based on the Jubilee Campus, you can gain feedback or receive constructive advice on your CV and covering letters, or if you just want to have a chat about how you might move your career forward either within or outside academia.

The JGC works closely with the Careers and Employability Service, who run specific sessions for PGRs and early career researchers on career planning and options, writing cvs and covering letters and preparing for interviews (see ‘Training and Events’ for the most up to date information), and there are also centrally run courses which you can sign up for.

Clare Jones is the Careers Adviser for postgraduate students and offers one to one appointments.

Please note that the appointment system is available to PGRs and ECRs based in the Schools of Contemporary Chinese Studies, Computer Science, Education, I-WHO and CELE.

The Business School has a dedicated Careers Service, whom NUBS PGRs should contact in the first instance.

There are lots of sources of support that you can draw upon in relation to your career development. We are here to help you, so make use of us and make sure that your job application gets noticed.
