Careers Support
Dr Victoria Sedman is a former academic postdoc who understands the many reasons academic science is a challenging career. She can offer help and advice on career planning and exploring your options. Please
contact Victoria if you would like to come in for a chat.
There is also a dedicated careers advisor for postgraduate students and research staff, Clare Jones, in the Careers and Employability Service. If you would like to discuss your career development and options please contact Clare to arrange an appointment.
As part of the Careers and Employability website there is also a dedicated webpage for researchers with up to date information on careers and opportunities available. This page contains links to sites with academic and non-academic science job advertisements and careers articles. Don't forget, if you're interested in working somewhere in particular, Universities and companies have recruitment sections on their own websites.
If you're interested in working in a particular lab or on a particular subject, networking is always a good idea.
Contact Victoria, or drop in to the Centre (C100 Medical School), to have a chat about where to start.
