How do you want to learn?

Students outside the Learning Resource Centre

Finding the method of training that suits your learning style and the amount of time you have available is vital. We know that one size doesn't fit all, so there are a range of face-to-face and online courses, plus development events throughout the year. There are also placement and internship opportunities and specific activities to support part-time students.

If you have an idea for new provision, some funding is available for researcher-led bids.

As well as the Graduate School Researcher Development Programme, short courses are offered by Academic Support, the Safety Office, the Careers and Employability ServiceInformation Services, and the Centre for English Language Education.

To search for suitable courses and register to attend, visit the University of Nottingham Short Courses website.

Don't have time to attend a face-to-face course? Then take advantage of our online courses.

As well standalone online courses that you can access at a time that suits you, we also offer moderated online courses which are especially useful for researchers who find it difficult to attend face-to-face courses but appreciate the opportunity to collaborate with their peers.

Placements and internships are an excellent way to enhance your transferrable skills and increase your employability.

Opportunities arise throughout the year and are advertised on our website as they become available. Successful students are fully supported throughout the duration of the placement to ensure that they maximise their experience.
