Researcher development through Vitae
Vitae is the UK organisation championing the personal, professional and career development of doctoral researchers and research staff in higher education.
Vitae Midlands Hub
The Graduate School works collaboratively with other universities in the region through the Vitae Midlands Hub. Their activities for students include:
Midlands Hub Training Exchange
Participating universities make workshops and courses available through the Midlands Hub. This enables you to attend courses that are not offered at Nottingham. Also, if you live away from Nottingham, you may find it more convenient to go to a university nearer your home.
To book a place on these courses, please visit Vitae's website.
Vitae workshops for part-time doctoral researchers
These workshops are specifically for part-time researchers. They are run at various universities in the Midlands, including Nottingham and are free to all part-time doctoral students based in the Midlands. To find out more about the courses on offer, visit Vitae's part-time doctorate pages.
‘Getting the best from long-distance supervision’
‘Structuring your thesis’
‘Recognising and making progress’
Please visit Vitae's webpages for a full list of the events and courses on offer. You will need to filter the search using the keyword ‘part-time’ and by setting the region to ‘Midlands.
