Four School of Health Sciences students have been shortlisted across three categories of the prestigious Cavell Nurses' Trust Award 2015. There were around 235 entries this year and a total of 70 out of the 71 nursing and midwifery departments from across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland took part. Out of these entries only 26 students were shortlisted for interview.

We are pleased to announce that the following students from the University of Nottingham's School of Health Sciences have been shortlisted:

  • Natasha McVey – Community Award
  • Nicola Fisher – Community Award
  • Robert Gorton – Outstanding Student Nurse Award
  • Anna Steward – Outstanding Academic Achievement Award

Assistant Professor Stacy Johnson, of the University of Nottingham's School of Health Sciences, will be present on one of this year's judging panel - a further honour for the school. She commented: "I was impressed by the calibre of all of the candidates nationally. It was a pleasure to read about all the things that student nurses are doing. Based on the entries I have great confidence in the future of nursing.”
