Teaching Associate, Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences
Following a degree in Sociology from Durham University and a year working as a healthcare assistant in an inner city emergency admissions unit, Alison Hancock completed her midwifery training with Edinburgh Napier University. She began her clinical midwifery career in Nottingham University Hospitals Trust, working initially as a rotational midwife, then moving to help establish a new birth centre within the hospital, where her passion for alongside midwifery units began. She since completed an MSc in Midwifery, focusing on working relationships between alongside midwifery units and obstetric units. She joined the School of Health Sciences as a Teaching Associate in April 2017, currently working as module lead for research.
