Free Sepsis e-learning package

A new e-learning package, ‘Sepsis and Sepsis Six’ has been developed jointly by James Henderson (HELM, School of Health Sciences), Gill Langmack (School of Health Sciences) and Anna Davis (NUH) as a collaboration between The University of Nottingham’s School of Health Sciences and Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.

Sepsis and Sepsis Six – link to e-learning package

The e-learning package explores the issues involved for the patient who is admitted with sepsis so learners can:

  • define sepsis;
  • understand the physiological effects of sepsis;
  • recognise a septic patient;
  • describe the treatment of a septic patient.

The team presented the resource at the ‘Lets Beat Sepsis’ conference at the University of Hertfordshire on 5 July and have also co-authored an article “Development of an e-learning package for sepsis care” for the British Journal of Nursing (BJN).
