Studying history at university

At the University of Nottingham we pride ourselves on our student-centred learning.

To get you immersed in history and improve your analytical skills we use primary sources from the start. There is also a wide range of assessment. These include:

  • group projects,
  • student-led seminars,
  • essays,
  • posters,
  • gobbets (bite-sized pieces of primary sources),
  • exams.

So whatever your learning style, we have something for you.

Our teaching and learning has been highly praised as innovative, and we are also partners in the East Midlands Centre for History Teaching and Learning.
