The University has produced updated Guidance on Supporting Trans Staff in light of further research in this area and consultation with the LGBTQ network and a focus group of Heads of School/Departments.
Trans people have been identified as a particularly vulnerable group. This guidance is designed as a resource for managers to support a member of staff who is considering transitioning to their preferred gender, is in the process of transitioning, or has transitioned. It can also be used to increase staff awareness of gender identity.
Guidance on issues specifically relating to trans students can be obtained from Student Support Services.
Please ensure that you read and familiarise yourselveswith this policy and cascade to your line managers as appropriate.
