The Burmese military junta has committed many human rights atrocities against its 47 million citizens, from violently suppressing protests, to causing disappearances, utilising child soldiers and imposing forced labour.
Moving to Mars follows two refugee Burmese families as they embark on a journey to resettle in Sheffield, supported by members of the Refugee Council's Sheffield Resettlement Team – including Mr. Tsegazghi, our guest speaker. Coinciding with the theme of this year's Student Human Rights Conference, the story of these families gives us a unique insight into the contemporary challenges of displaced people throughout the UK.
Introduction and Q & A: Mr Tesfamhret Tsegazghi, Team Manager and Project Worker at the Refugee Council, Sheffield Resettlement Team
