Professor Patricia J. Williams, James L. Dohr Professor of Law at Columbia University, New York, is the 2011 J.C.Smith Trust Fund Senior Visiting Scholar at the University of Nottingham School of Law.

In honour of Professor Williams, the School of Law, in conjunction with the Human Rights Law Centre, will hold a day-long workshop on the theme of post-racialism.

Other confirmed panellists include Professor Ariela J. Gross, John B. & Alice R. Sharp Professor of Law and History, University of Southern California; Dr. Martha S. Jones, Associate Professor of History and Afro-American Studies, University of Michigan; and Dr. Ian Law, Reader in Racism and Ethnicity Studies, University of Leeds.

Please note that this event is open to participation by staff and research students only.  Seating is strictly limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.  Those who wish to attend are kindly asked to notify Tina Finch (tina.finch@nottingham.ac.uk) of their intention by Friday 4 March.
