Professor O'Flaherty is new Vice-Chair of the UN Human Rights Committee

We are very pleased to announce that in an election at UN Headquarters, New York, HRLC Co-Director Professor Michael O'Flaherty was appointed to the position of Vice-Chair of the UN Human Rights Committee.  He will serve in this post for two years.  At the same election Ms Zonke Majodina (South Africa) was elected as Chairperson.  Professor O'Flaherty is serving his second term at the Human Rights Committee, after topping the poll in the elections of September 2008.
