Research Excellence Framework 2014 results

The results of the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF) were published on 18 December 2014. The REF is the new system for assessing the quality of research in UK higher education institutions. The system assesses academic research from all UK universities, with separate scores (from 4* to 1*) assigned for publications, research impact and environment.

Overall, the University of Nottingham is ranked 8th in the UK on a measure of ‘research power’, which takes into account both the quality of research and the number of research-active staff who made REF returns. Read more here.
