Welcome to ICMCR
The Centre for International Crisis Management and Conflict Resolution (ICMCR) was created to provide a focus for research and teaching in relation to some of the most pressing security challenges of our time: conflict within and between states and international terrorism. Based in the School of Politics and International Relations at the University of Nottingham, ICMCR provides opportunities for reflection, education, training and research: what are the causes and consequences of conflict and how should we respond to them?
Our research is interdisciplinary and methodologically diverse and deals with conflict and crises from both historical and contemporary perspectives. Our research is grounded in a sound understanding of relevant theories and concepts, and has a decided policy focus and orientation on the practice of conflict resolution and crisis management.
ICMCR fellows experienced researchers who have a compelling track record of publications, grant income, and consulting to governments and international organisations. The Centre offers a wide range of opportunities for postgraduate study and internships. Our programme of events, conferences, and workshops creates a stimulating and intellectually productive atmosphere for ICMCR’s fellows and provides a framework in which we can engage with a wider audience of policy makers, media professionals and the wider public.
ICMCR welcomes proposals to work with networks, institutes and research centres. We also welcome people wanting to work with us, whether as potential students, as visiting faculty, or collaborative researchers.
