The postgraduate migration research network (PMRN) is an international network of research and postgraduate students (including those who have recently completed their PhD or Masters).

PMRN as been created as part of ICMiC with the intent of creating opportunities to collaborate, meet and share research findings and experiences among students and between students and established academics. The Network is interdisciplinary and has members from all fields including:

  • Sociology
  • Anthropology
  • Social policy
  • Politics
  • Human geography
  • Cultural studies
  • Area studies

The network provides concrete opportunities to:

  • share ideas and knowledge regarding research in migration and migration related topics
  • present research findings and ideas to other students in a supportive environment. In collaboration with the Identity Citizenship and Migration Centre, PMRN organises postgraduate workshops and seminars on migration-related topic
  • foster networks and linkages between individuals and departments and contribute to the building of a 'community' of young academic and facilitate access to publications

PMRN is convened by Kristoffer Halvorsrud and Lenka Pelechova.

The network collaborates with ENQUIRE, the postgraduate online refereed journal based in the School of Sociology and Social Policy and operates on the basis of a email distribution list - pgmigrationresearchnetwork@lists.nottingham.ac.uk
