Courses for practitioners

 

Do you need to develop know-how fast to use directly in business, to enhance employability or for high-value continuing professional development (CPD)?  Then take one of our many Masters level modules, individually, without examination.  Each is taught intensively over a 5 day week at the Institute, providing you with sound up-to-date knowledge and practical experience. 

Each course consists of printed lecture materials, lectures from in-house and other experts, with many involving practical hands-on sessions using our expansive range of modern equipment and data processing packages. 

These courses are currently available:

  • Fundamentals of Satellite Positioning
  • Advanced Satellite Positioning
  • Satellite Positioning System Design
  • Engineering Surveying
  • Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing
  • Navigation Systems and Integration
  • Terrestrial-based Positioning
 

And these courses, also available, provide mathematical, statistical, coordinate system and geodetic knowledge that underpin the understanding and augment the learning gained from those above:

  • Analytical Methods
  • Geodetic Reference Systems
  • Physical Geodesy

A certificate confirming attendance is provided at the end of each module.

Tailored courses

The Institute has expertise in running both in-house and client designed courses for major UK and multinational organisations.  Masters level materials and teaching can be integrated with client provided content and resources in a client designed structure.  Practical sessions can be integrated into this structure, giving hands-on exposure to the latest technology available, through our up-to-date range of equipment and data processing packages.
