The University of Nottingham is proud to participate in the Universitas 21, Erasmus and International Exchange Programmes. We also welcome students from our overseas campuses in Malaysia and China through the Inter-Campus exchange programme.

Exchange Programmes at Nottingham

All Exchange students must have completed at least one year of their degree before they spend a period of time studying at Nottingham, earning credit to transfer back to their degree.
Nottingham is committed to providing a personalised, academically focused experience. Exchange students take part in the regular undergraduate curriculum and study alongside home students.
Dedicated coordinators within the Study Abroad Team are able to assist students from the time of initial query to the moment students receive their final transcript. Each academic School also has a designated Exchange Co-ordinator who provides advice on academic issues.

There are two routes into the Exchange Programme:

Direct entry into academic Schools for native English language speakers and those who meet Nottingham's English language requirements
A Pre–Sessional English Language Course prior to the period of academic study for students whose first language is not English. The Pre-Sessional English Language course is offered by our Centre for English Language Education CELE

Exchange students are guaranteed university accommodation for the duration of their study period, provided that applications are returned by the deadline stated in their offer letter.

Any former Exchange student who chooses to return to the University of Nottingham to follow a full degree course is entitled to a scholarship.
