Below is an approximate guide to entry requirements for students from Australia for admission to The University of Nottingham at the following levels.
Applicants from Australia do not normally require a foundation programme.
Australian senior secondary certificates with relevant Australian University Matriculation grades are normally accepted for undergraduate entry.
For further information about our foundation options, please visit our undergraduate prospectus.
Find out how to apply.
A typical UAI / TER / ENTER requirement / mix of subjects for a course with a BBB A level entry requirement is 86, or 5 in OP.
Students taking A levels or the IB should refer to the online undergraduate prospectus for entry requirements.
Students taking APs or SATIIs should refer to entry requirements for the USA.
A bachelors degree from a recognised university will be considered for masters entry.
For honours degrees, requirements are the same as those for UK bachelors degrees (honours). For ordinary degrees, requirements are typically 70% for courses requiring a UK 2:1, and 60% for course requiring a UK 2:2.
For more information, please see our postgraduate prospectus.
A masters and bachelors degree from a recognised university are usually required for PhD entry, although exceptional students may be considered for PhD entry without a masters qualification.
Applicants are usually expected to have achieved a good grade from the masters degree.
For all research degrees, we recommend that you make initial enquiries with a potential supervisor or the relevant University of Nottingham school / department before applying. A research proposal is required when submitting your application.
To ensure that you can fully benefit from your studies at Nottingham, you will need to demonstrate a required level of English language proficiency.
Students who have completed a recognised degree, or completed the whole of their secondary education in one of these countries within the last 10 years are not normally required to take a separate English language test.
Otherwise, in addition to the more common language qualifications - such as IELTS, TOEFL, (I)GCSE, O level, IB and A and AS level English - the University also considers a number of other English language qualifications for admission.
Our Centre for English Language Education (CELE) offers a range of English language courses.
These courses are designed to prepare international students with the required language skills for academic study at The University of Nottingham.
