Below is an approximate guide to entry requirements for students from Oman for admission to The University of Nottingham at the following levels.
Students taking the Thanawiya amma (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) or American High School Diploma (no APs or SAT Iis), or the International Baccalaureate Certificate qualifications are usually required to take a foundation course.
Students require at least a 80% Thanawiya amma average with 80% in relevant subjects (e.g. Physics, Maths, Chemistry) for Engineering and Science subjects or 75% with 75% in relevant subjects for Arts, Social Sciences or Business courses.
All students require at least 75% in Maths.
Students taking the American High School Diploma require a minimum 3.2 GPA (unless SAT IIs or APs have been taken - see undergraduate guidance for further information).
Students taking International Baccalaureate Certificate will be considered for foundation courses where scores of 5 or above have been achieved in relevant standard level IB subjects.

Degrees from some Omani universities are consifered more presitigious than others. The minimum acceptable grade is 2.8 from the most prestigious Universities, this rises to 3.0 for graduates of other universities.

A Masters and Bachelors degree from a recognised University are usually required for PhD entry, although exceptional students may be considered for PhD entry without a Masters qualification.
Typical minimum GPA requirements from Omani universities are GPA 3.0
For all research degrees, we recommend that you make initial enquiries with a potential supervisor or the relevant University of Nottingham school / department before applying. A research proposal is required when submitting your application.
To study at Nottingham, you will need to demonstrate a required level of English language proficiency. In addition to the more common language qualifications - such as IELTS, TOEFL, (I)GCSE, O level, IB and A and AS level English - the University also considers a number of other English language qualifications for admission.
