Many of us travel for holidays or work and may think of ourselves as having experience of other cultures, but this experience is generally superficial. You may find living in the UK surprising and being cultural aware will help you to adjust.

A good starting point to understand this is to remember that you have a culture, everyone else you meet has a culture - you may have some things in common and others may be different.

People will want to know about you too - it might be useful to think about how you would describe your own cultural background, your traditions and values.
